Information regarding the field course:

Field measurements will be conducted together with the Hydrogeophysics team of Anja Klotzsche (Jülich) and the team of Andreas Kemna (Bonn). We will be working in the coastal transition zone around Spiekeroog in northern Germany to gain insights into fresh-saltwater interaction. Here the several scientific partners are involved in scientifc studies, for example at the LIAG Dyna-Deep monitoring site. During the field course we will apply surface inductive EM (TEM, RMT, EMI), wave based EM (GPR) and direct current resistivity (DCR/ERT) methods to gain information about the shallow subsurface structure (down to max. 150 m depth). The field work will be conducted in groups. The collected field data will be analyzed and discussed every evening to gain first insights to the subsurface structure and answer open questions.
