The U.S. National Committee (USNC) for the International Union of Radio Scientists (URSI), with the generous support of the Liebe family, has established the Hans Liebe Lectureship in microwave and optical spectroscopy as applied to radio science, remote sensing, and telecommunications.
The lectureship goes to a distinguished member of the radio science community to deliver a lecture on the professional topic of their interest at each of the annual USNC-URSI Radio Science meetings.
On January 12, 2024, Ulrich Löhnert gave his lecture with the title „Ground-based microwave radiometers: missing puzzle pieces in laying the picture of the atmospheric state“. The talk highlights recent work accomplished in his research group „Exploiting Observations in Meteorology“. If you are curious to find out more, you can watch a recording of the lecture here.
