Radar setup at Norunda research station and SIRTA site
In the week from 18-22 March 2019, the new 94-GHz Doppler cloud radars from RPG were delivered and set up. One of the two radar instruments was directly transported to its destination, the Norunda research station in Sweden, while the other went to SIRTA observatory of IPSL, Palaiseau, France, to participate in a ACTRIS cloud radar calibration campaign before going to Magurele, Romania.
As the pictures from both sites show, the setup was successful and we are looking forward to get the first data. During the first couple of weeks, the radar will be tested and the data transfer will be installed. After all this is set, the actual project work will start in May, 2019.
