Aims of the module and acquired skills

Students shall present selected current topics from the solar and exoplanetary systems as prior and new knowledge of solar system objects from spacecraft flybys and discoveries and application of basic geophysical knowledge to exoplanets.

Acquired skills are new knowledge of selected solar system objects like dwarf planets, moons, asteroids and exoplanets.

Soft skills: critical assessment of scientific knowledge, scientific presentation and discussion

Contents of the module

Students each choose of the offered topics. The topics may be covered by one or more scientific papers. In a seminar talk the students present the recent state of research. The necessary literature research is conducted independently by the student.
