a researcher in the AWARES group working on the EXPATS project. Current research focuses on understanding and forecasting hail storms and convection over the Alps.

Previous research includes weather and climate modelling, machine learning, large language models, and sea ice drift. Within the AIMIP project, the suitability of a machine learning-based weather prediction model for climate projections was investigated in collaboration with ECMWF, Google DeepMind, the University of Magdeburg, and the University of Potsdam. At the Alfred Wegener Institute (AWI), work included the development of LLM-based chatbots to estimate the impact of climate change on planned activities based on climate projections, as well as contributions to the Sea Ice Drift Forecast Experiment (SIDFEx).

Bachelor’s thesis (2023): The Evaluation of Short-Term Sea Ice Drift Forecasts – Benefits from and Limitations of Subdaily Resolution (in cooperation with AWI).

Master’s thesis (2026): On the Suitability of ArchesWeatherGen for Climate Projections (in cooperation with ECMWF).

Research interests: hail storms, convection over the Alps, weather and climate modelling, machine learning, large language models, and sea ice drift.
