Sightseeing Afternoon

Four different guided tours are offered to all participants. You can sign in for one of the tours, when you register on the conference site. All tours will start on Tuesday at 15:30 h in front of the main entrance of Cologne Cathedral. Make sure that you sign in early, as the number of subscribers for the individual tours is limited. The tours will end at about 17 h, so there will be time before the evening banquet (starts 19 h). The offered tours will be as follows:

1. A tour through the Cologne Cathedral. The Cathedral is a World Heritage Site, one of the best-known architectural monuments in Germany, and Cologne's most famous landmark. Afterwards a walk through picturesque Old Town of Cologne.

2. A visit to the Romano-Germanic Museum, an important archaeological museum with large collection of Roman artifacts from the Roman settlement Colonia Claudia Ara Agrippinensium. Afterwards a walk through picturesque Old Town of Cologne.

3. A visit to Museum Ludwig, where you can see a collection of modern art including works from PopArt, Abstract and Surrealism. The museum houses one of the largest Picasso collections in Europe. Afterwards a walk through picturesque Old Town of Cologne.

4. A visit to Wallraf-Richartz-Museum, which houses an art gallery with a collection of fine art from the medieval period to the early twentieth century. Afterwards a walk through picturesque Old Town of Cologne.

All four tours end at the pier of the shipping company Köln-Düsseldorfer (Landebrücke Nr. 05), where Evening Banquet will take place. So you can easily find the pier later on.

 

Evening Banquet on the Rhine River

For the Evening Banquet on Tuesday a ship from the shipping company Köln-Düsseldorfer is booked for a approx. 3 hour round-trip cruise on the Rhine River. The ship will be ready to enter at 19:00 h at the Landebrücke Nr. 05 (pier) on the Rhine River. You can walk there either from Heumarkt tram stop (Maritim Hotel) or from Cologne Central Station in about 10 minutes.

At 19:30 h the cruise will start. After a welcome drink a guide will tell a few things about the cruising route.

At about 20 h the onboard cuisine will offer an italian buffet with a wide range of Antipasti, various main courses and several desserts. A variety of hot and cold drinks will be served as well. After the dinner there will be enough time for some drinks and conversations.

At about 23 h the ship will return to the Landebrücke Nr. 05 (pier), where the cruise ends.
